Alleged Baby Snatcher Sameemah Jacobs Returns To Court To Amend Bail Conditions For Religious Trip

Alleged baby snatcher Sameemah Jacobs is set to return to court on Tuesday after requesting an amendment to her bail conditions to allow her to attend a religious excursion next month.

Jacobs faces charges of kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice after allegedly posing as three different women to abduct a nine-day-old baby earlier this year. The incident took place at Middestad Mall in June, and police were able to reunite the infant with its mother shortly after the ordeal.

Sameemah Jacobs’ Court Appearance Delayed Due to Lawyer’s Absence

Jacobs made a brief appearance in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court last week, where she informed the court that she had submitted an affidavit through her Legal Aid lawyer requesting a change to her bail conditions.

She told Magistrate Collin Jacks, “For the one affidavit I submitted was for the court to please amend my bail conditions because I need to go on a religious excursion from 2 November to 6 November and my bail conditions don’t allow me to.”

However, the hearing could not proceed as planned because Jacobs’ lawyer was absent due to a car accident.

With Jacobs’ legal representative unavailable, the State requested a postponement to allow for further investigation and to ensure her lawyer could be present when the bail amendment request is officially heard.

Jacobs remains out on bail while awaiting the next court date.
