Alleged State Security Agency Imposter To Appear In Pretoria Court Over Fraud

A 41-year-old man is expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Monday morning after being accused of posing as an official from the State Security Agency (SSA).
The suspect was apprehended by the Hawks last week following intelligence-driven operations linked to his activities at an upmarket estate in Pretoria.
Authorities allege that the man falsely presented himself as an SSA operative and unlawfully exercised authority under this guise.

According to investigators, the suspect was caught in the act while impersonating an SSA member. The arrest followed a coordinated operation after law enforcement received information about suspicious conduct.
The Hawks indicated that preliminary findings suggest the man may have used the fake identity to extort money from businesses operating in and around Pretoria.
