Airlink Flights Disrupted Across South Africa As Navigation Services Face Blame

South African regional carrier Airlink has announced significant disruptions to its scheduled flights affecting routes to and from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, Pietermaritzburg, Richards Bay, and Mthatha.

According to the airline, the cause of the delays lies with South Africa’s Air Traffic Navigation Services (ATNS), which it accuses of failing to maintain the validity of the Instrument Flight Procedures (IFPs) at the affected airports.

These procedures are essential for guiding aircraft safely in and out of airports under various weather conditions.

Airlink Urges Passengers to Check Flight Updates

In a statement, the airline assured passengers that it is “doing everything possible to get customers to their intended destinations as quickly as possible.”

The airline has also advised travellers with bookings to or from the impacted destinations to contact Airlink or their travel agents for the latest information regarding flight status and alternative arrangements.

Airlink continues to work closely with authorities to resolve the issue and minimise inconvenience for its passengers.
