Seven People Shot Dead In Philippi East As Police Launch Massive Manhunt

A tragic shooting on Friday night left seven people dead in Philippi East on the Cape Flats. Police spokesperson Andre Traut confirmed that the attack occurred on Road 53 near Better Life.

Traut said a large-scale manhunt is underway to track down those responsible for the deadly assault. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and no arrests have yet been made.

Police Urge Public to Assist Investigation

“Detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit have been assigned to the case and are pursuing every available lead to identify and apprehend those responsible for this brutal attack,” Traut stated.

Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile condemned the killings, calling it a “senseless act of violence,” and appealed to the public to assist police with any information that could help solve the case.
