4 Suspects Arrested After Killing A 63-Year-Old Man In Moffatview, Johannesburg

A 63-year-old man was shot and killed in Moffatview, Johannesburg, on Friday, 29 August 2025. Police officers, who were stationed nearby, heard a gunshot and rushed to the scene. They discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
High-Speed Chase Leads to Arrests in South Hill
Soon after the shooting, officers launched a search for the suspects. A suspicious vehicle was spotted driving at high speed, prompting police to give chase. The pursuit ended at a block of flats in South Hill, where four suspects, aged between 19 and 36, were arrested.

During the search of the suspects’ and their premises, police uncovered a large weapons cache. Officers confiscated seven firearms, more than 120 rounds of ammunition, and drugs valued at approximately R300,000.00.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 01 September 2025.
