4 Suspects Arrested In Connection With Wynberg Magistrate’s Court Shooting

The Western Cape police have made significant progress in the investigation of the April 8, 2025, shooting incident at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court that claimed the life of Bakersfield Dingalomoya Chintso.
Two men, aged 23 and 34, were arrested on Thursday, April 24, bringing the total number of suspects arrested to four.

Mastermind Behind Shooting Revealed
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in the Western
Cape, the first suspect arrested, Shireen Mathews, allegedly conspired with the Junky Funky Kids gang to kill the deceased.

The NPA believes the murder was a retaliation for a murder committed by Chintso.
Mathews is expected in court at the end of May, and the State will oppose her bail application.

The suspects, including 24-year-old Abubaker Adams, who was previously arrested and charged with murder, will face justice as they appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court.
The police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, confirmed that the suspects will appear in court on Friday, April 25.
