4 Suspects Arrested For Armed Robbery

In a successful operation under the Eyes and Ears (E2) project, a joint initiative between the police and private security companies, four suspects were arrested for their involvement in a violent armed robbery in Sandton.
The incident occurred on 17 March 2025, when two individuals, traveling in an e-hailing vehicle, were robbed at gunpoint by a group of suspects driving an Audi.

The victims were on their way to a hotel when the Audi abruptly cut in front of them.
The armed suspects threatened the victims, stealing valuables, including two branded watches worth approximately R200,000.
Security Follow-Up Leads To Arrests
Later that same day, the Sandton police, in collaboration with the security company involved in the E2 project, followed up on critical information that led them to the suspects.

The four suspects were apprehended, and authorities recovered two firearms with filed serial numbers, the stolen branded watches, and two vehicles—an Audi and a Toyota—both equipped with false registration numbers.

The four suspects were arrested and are expected to appear in court.
