Experts say a headache can not only be treated through taking medication, there are also bests foods recommended in fighting the sensation.

Health experts reveal that the most common acts that trigger headaches are fasting, dehydration, or even skipping meals. They say paying careful attention to your diet and keeping your body hydrated is one of the best possible ways to prevent or deal with headaches.

So, before rushing to get other means of medication, visit your kitchen and see if you don’t have the kinds of food that act as great defence against that irritating headache.

Dietitian Keri Glassman suggests that the following foods are loaded with headache fighting power:

Ginger 

Ginger contains a naturally occurring oil that’s responsible for both its flavour and health benefits. It is the spicy root that may have the ability to block prostaglandins (neurotransmitters that play a role in inflammation), which causes a slight swelling of your brain that may be the source of your discomfort. Grate it fresh into dishes like sautéed mushrooms and watercress, or make a carrot ginger soup to up the comfort.

Spinach

Leafy greens are high in magnesium, a nutrient that has been found to have powerful headache-relieving properties. Regular magnesium intake has been shown to have the ability to reduce migraine attacks by 41.2 percent.

Watermelon
