Three Men Found Dead In Car In Hout Bay Suspected Extortion Attack

A shocking triple homicide has shaken the Imizamo Yethu informal settlement after three men were discovered dead inside a silver Hyundai i20 on Tuesday night.

According to the Western Cape South African Police Service (SAPS), the victims were found at around 11:45 PM in Holomisa Square. All three had sustained gunshot wounds.

Extortion Suspected in Death of Three Men

While the motive for the killings remains under investigation, police have indicated that extortion could be linked to the attack. Detectives from the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Lieutenant General (Adv) Thembisile Patekile, Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, condemned the killings, calling the violence “deeply concerning.” She appealed to local residents:

“We urge community members to work with us by providing any information that could assist in tracking down those behind this crime.”

Authorities continue to investigate as the community reels from the violent incident.
