29 Year Old Remanded In Custody After Attempted Filling Station Robbery

Donald Molea, a 29-year-old man, appeared before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 24 March 2025, facing charges of attempted robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Molea was remanded in custody, with his case postponed to 04 April 2025 for a formal bail application.

The charges stem from an attempted robbery at a filling station in Ga-Mashashane, Capricorn District.

Details Of Robbery

Molea and another suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Rudolph Segoale, allegedly entered the filling station and accosted a petrol attendant.

One of the suspects was reportedly armed with a firearm and forced the attendant inside, demanding cash at gunpoint.

However, they were unsuccessful in their attempt to rob the station and fled the scene before completing the crime.

Arrests And Investigation Progress

Police responded quickly to the scene and launched an extensive search for the suspects.

The search led to the arrest of Molea and Segoale in a nearby village.

During the arrest, law enforcement officials recovered an unlicensed firearm with an empty magazine, as well as the sedan used in the crime.

However, the case against Segoale was withdrawn due to insufficient evidence.

Investigations are ongoing, and Molea remains in custody as the legal process continues.
