28 Year Old Intern Arrested For Soliciting Bribes For Fake Traffic Officer Jobs
A 28-year-old intern from the Department of Transport in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, is set to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, facing serious corruption charges.
The man was arrested on Wednesday after being caught in a sting operation.

He allegedly solicited bribes from victims, promising them fake jobs as traffic officers in exchange for a fee of R6,500 each.
Limpopo Anti-Corruption Unit Leads Investigation
Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba confirmed that the case was reported to the Limpopo provincial anti-corruption unit, who launched an immediate investigation.

The complaint detailed how the suspect was demanding payments from victims under the false pretense of securing employment.
Authorities quickly organized a sting operation in the Thohoyandou area.
When the suspect arrived at a pre-arranged meeting point and demanded the bribe, he was arrested on the spot.
Police recovered R2,000 from his possession at the time of his arrest.

Limpopo’s Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the swift action of the anti-corruption unit and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks), who collaborated in the arrest.
Hadebe emphasized that corruption within law enforcement ranks would not be tolerated, sending a strong message of zero tolerance.
She also urged the public to report any corrupt activities they may encounter.
