28 Year Old Arrested In Cape Town Major Drug Bust Worth R2million

A 28-year-old suspect is set to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town on charges of dealing in drugs.

The suspect was arrested on Monday, April 28, at the N1 City Mall.

Hawks members discovered 51,000 packets of mandrax valued at over R2 million in the suspect’s vehicle.

Arrest

The arrest was a result of an intelligence-led operation by the Hawks South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) team.

The team spotted the vehicle, stopped it, and searched it, finding two containers of mandrax in the boot.

Stellenbosch Arrests

In a separate incident, two Nigerian nationals were arrested for dealing in drugs in Stellenbosch on Friday.

Police seized a large amount of cocaine and crystal meth worth R400,000 from a premises in Bassi Street.

The suspects will appear in the Stellenbosch Magistrate’s Court, also facing charges under the Immigration Act.
