Following a cash-in-transit heist in Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, last week, an army captain has been arrested as the fourth suspect.
The robbery took place at a gas station last Monday. “A 36-year-old SANDF captain was arrested on Friday and is the fourth person to be charged,” said Hawks spokesperson Zinzi Hani.
At the moment, two armed suspects approached one of the security guards, disarming him of his service weapon and fleeing with cash. Shortly later, three individuals were caught.
The SANDF member was arrested after further investigation. On Monday, the suspect is scheduled to appear in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates Court on robbery with aggravating circumstances charges.
