The Freedom Day public holiday didn’t end well for Emtee who lost his childhood friend and manager, Lebohang ‘Lebo’ Maswanganyi. His passing took everyone by shock as when the news broke out it appeared that the Manado hitmaker was with him and they were up to no good.
It was also said that he died after an overdose of drugs. However, Emtee Records have now come forward to make a statement debunking claims that he was with the rapper. They further went on to say that he wasn’t even at their studio when his sudden death met him.
The statement which was posted on Instagram read as follows: “We Wish to formally confirm the news of the tragic death of Lebohang ‘Lebo’ Maswanganyi Emtee’s close friend during the early hours of the morning.
“Details of the circumstances of his death will be addressed in a formal statement to be issued by the family in due course. In the meantime, we note the unfortunate utterances and speculations that are already circulating on social media around the circumstances of the death.
“For the record, at the time of death, Lebo was neither with Emtee nor was he at Emtee’s place or studio. We view these and similar utterances as inhuman and insensitive to both Lebo’s family and friends in particular Emtee who, at the moment, is trying to come to terms with the loss of a childhood friend.
