From having a white baby sitter in the 90s and not being able to speak isiZulu to enjoying IsiXhosa news at the age of four, Minnie Dlamini had to be called to order.

Tuesday evening was a night to remember as Noxolo Grootboom presented her final Xhosa news bulletin before retiring after her 37-year career at the SABC. A lot of celebs took to their social media timelines to send her good wishes.

Minnie found herself on top of the Twitter trends for apparently lying on how her mom had told her she used to get excited to see Noxolo on TV and would “scream her name around the house”. In her words she said: “My mother says when I was about 4 years old, I used to get super excited to see her on-screen and scream her name around the house.”

Lol, imagine a 4-year-old having to scream “Grootboom, Grootboom”. Though the star quickly deleted the tweet it was too late as a lot of people already had the screenshots. They went on to laugh at her all throughout the day.
