The Megacy has entered celebration mode as AKA is turning 33 years today. It has been quite a number of years since the rapper was introduced to us. And yes there have been ups and downs at a point he was one of the most controversial artists Mzansi has ever had.
The star who was born and raised in Cape Town hit the limelight when he released single “Victory Lap” from his debut album, Altar Ego in 2011. In the same year, he won the Best Hip Hop Album at the Metro FM Awards and the Best Male Artist of the Year at the 2012 South African Music.

In 2018 saw AKA in conjunction with vodka brand Cruz launched a watermelon-flavoured drink with his initial on the bottles. That same month, AKA came on as a special guest on WWE Live events held in Johannesburg and Cape Town. 2019, saw him being roasted on the Comedy Central Roast special.
Supa Mega now has his own TV show titled The Braai Show on SABC 1. The show made its debut a few months ago but has been able to attract millions of viewers. The rapper-turned-TV presenter has interviewed famous people like Prince Kaybee, Fikile Mbalula, Robert Marawa and Sjava on his show.
In December 2020 the rapper ventured into the hospitality industry and a restaurant in Durban, Cuba BLK. He is madly in love with his 21-year-old girlfriend Nellie Tembe and shares a baby girl with DJ Zinhle. Fans have been celebrating the legendary rapper on their social media timelines.
