Julius Malema has seemingly been exposed this week – after video clips of the EFF leader getting in the festive spirit were uploaded on Wednesday. In two separate outdoor events, the EFF leader can be seen dancing, mingling with others, and ultimately disregarding the advice on gatherings dished out by the government in December.
In the videos, social distancing is largely ignored. Very few masks are in sight, and Julius Malema even gets involved in a conga during one of the clips. He’s been hammered on social media, and in light of the current situation in South Africa, there’s little wonder this footage isn’t sitting well with the online community:
Looks like it’s not just Julius Malema doing things that he told the public not to do and making rules for people that don’t apply to him. Even other EFF leaders are doing things they told the public not to do. #EFF#Malema #COVID19#Coronavirus pic.twitter.com/OMconAc6CF

Disgraceful scenes of Julius Malema partying up a storm With no mask on. Video was posted on Malema’s IG 4 days ago, the disgraceful and hypocritical EFF cult leader has since deleted this video. The area Julius was partying in, is declared a hotspot. pic.twitter.com/a9r8g6a7UT

Despite the damning videos, the EFF, and Malema himself, have been defiant in the face of criticism. The party has posted a brief reaction on their main Twitter page, claiming that Malema attended the gatherings with ‘immediate family’ – and they even argue that the CIC didn’t break any rules that applied during Level 1 of lockdown (when these events took place).
“Both beautiful events of Black Love were of immediate family, attended by the nine children of Koko Sarah Malema and all of her grandchildren. They were outdoors and in well-ventilated spaces – as decreed by the ‘prepaid president’ of South Africa,” EFF on wrote on their official Twitter account.
Well, the EFF leader is not best pleased with the people calling him out and he had a mouthful to say to his support for demanding an apology from him. “I don’t care if you are my reliable supporter, you will get an apology in heaven,” Malema replied to those demanding an apology.
I don’t care if you are my reliable supporter, you will get an apology in haven
