Former Bosasa COO, Agrizzi is facing fraud and corruption charges.
He failed to appear in court alongside his co-accused, former ANC MP Vincent Smith, on 1 October on corruption charges citing illness.
He was denied bail less than two weeks later, despite claiming to be sick.
After just one night in jail, Agrizzi was taken to a public hospital over-breathing issues. He is expected to appeal his denied bail at high court in JHB.
According to his lawyer, he was intubated when transferred and was immediately transferred to the ICU where there were continued attempts to stabilise him.
