The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) reject the appointment of former Tiso Blackstar Journalist Ranjeni Munusamy as a political secretary to the Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni. She still has a dark cloud over State Capture.

The EFF said Munusamy is an ex-employee of Jacob Zuma Trust and a recipient of inexplicable money from intelligence slush funds.

“One of the credible Witness at the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture presented undisputed evidence that Munusamy has been on the payroll of intelligence slush fund. This has not been disputed, despite her initial threats to challenge this compelling evidence,” said EFF.

According to the party, Munusamy has since gone undercover effectively to confirm that indeed she has received unexplained.

For Minister to employ such a discredited and compromised person in the serious business, is a reckless decision, according to fighters. The EFF further said Secretary in Treasury has an influence in the country’s fiscal and economic policies and influence on entities under National Treasury.

They said they’re aware of discredited employees under Treasury, but the appointment of Munusamy is taking it so far.
