The Nkuzi character might be a womaniser on Uzalo but Masoja Msiza is a completely different person. He is all about protecting women and seriously fighting against gender-based violence, hmmm who would have thought…

Yesterday news made rounds that the star has dropped a new song. However, we weren’t aware that the song is such a seasonal one and talks about the most critical subject in South Africa.

Rushing to listen to the song we discovered that the actor who is also a poet is pouring his heart out, he is putting himself on the front line of those who are willing to defend women.

Speaking to Sowetan Live about the song he released yesterday on Thursday, he said it was inspired by the growing number of cases of violence against women and children in society.

“When the idea of the song started I knew that poetry alone will not work on this song. I brought in Xolani to add voice so that the song is catchy. I have realised that fathers are absent in terms of actions in their sons’ lives.

“You see, when women have problems it is easy [for them] to share their pain with others and be comforted. But with men, they bottle a lot of pain and frustrations because there are no platforms where they can speak about their pain. We live in modern days where there is a lack of family structures which could assist in such situations,” he told the publication.

Now the best news that we’ve heard in 2020 is that the ‘Imaginary Men’s Conference’ will finally come to pass thanks to Masoja. The actor said he is planning a men’s conference in 2021, where he will be joined by councillors, spiritual and traditional leaders, to address men on how to uphold their dignities in society.
