The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leadership Julius Malema and Mboyiseni Ndlozi, came out in support of former ANC Nelson Mandela Bay councillor Andile Lungisa as he served his first night in prison for two-year sentence.
The Former ANC Nelson Mandela Bay councillor, Andile Lungisa, has served the first night of a two-year sentence in prison. Lungisa was convicted of the assault of a fellow DA councillor in 2016.
However, he handed himself over to authorities on Thursday and was greeted by a crowd of supporters outside the North End Prison in Port Elizabeth.
Ndlozi said their pain on Lungisa has left many people confused, however, they wouldn’t try to explain themselves to the people who are ready to twist their stance.
He added that it’s about time to rise above the pressure to prove themselves to the haters.
Our pain on Lungisa has got many confused. But let’s not try explain ourselves to people who are committed to misrepresenting/misunderstanding us… as a generation, we must rise above the pressure to prove ourselves to our haters!

Malema also took it Twitter to share pain regarding the imprisonment of Lungisa. However, people say its unfair there are criminals out there rolling on the streets but nothing happens for them.
