President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation this week, with the easing of lockdown regulation due to reduction of COVID-19 case load. It is said that he’s in talks with the NCCC.
The easing of regulation might relieve International travel ban, Tourism and other sectors of economy which are still closed.
However, it was said that opening of International borders and Tourism might cause or influence the second wave of COVID-19.
According to News24, Ramaphosa has been given a green light to lift the ban on International travel, Curfew and among other things which has been approved by the Cabinet.
In addition, it is said that tourism for international will be permitted, although, through authorised permission to avoid flooding of people. There are recommendation align to that, which is to allow people to pass in and out through valid visa protocols.
It is understood that international workers with valid work permits will be allowed to pass through and also South Africans who are abroad can return.
The pressure wages on President Ramaphosa, as the DA has been calling for lockdown to be called off completely. This is due to poor economy affected by lockdown.
Ramaphosa is also set to announce the economic recovery plan, once the cabinet has finalised this week.
