The South African Multinational Retail Store Clicks, has caused racial tension on Social media today. This over the post where they depict pictures of Hair, as they criticised African hair.

This was not just an advert, however, it created racial tension which took storm on Twitter. Most of South Africans particularly black people felt insulted.

The EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu, took it to Twitter to slam Clicks over their advert stance. He said that clicks is applying for the consequences for undermining black people.

“The last time some multinational retail store undermined black people like this there were major consequences. Clicks is applying for consequences. This is unacceptable,” said Shivambu.

Shivambu said Clicks’ behaviour is unacceptable, however, this is an application for the consequences.

Also, One SA Movement leader, Mmusi Maimane has expressed his disappointment over the group sentiment. He added that African Hair is beautiful.

However, Clicks has issued an apology and confirmed that the image was removed from their site.

“Hi we would like to issue unequivocal apology. We have removed the image which go against everything will believe in. We are strongly advocates for Natural hair, and we are deeply sorry we have offended our natural hair community. We will put stricter measure on our website,” apology reads.
