The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) to pursue the DA complaint against the man behind the race-baiting @TracyZille Twitter account, EFF Councillor Anthony Matumba.
The Commission has today confirmed to the DA that it would institute the matter at the Equality Court.
Matumba, who is an EFF Councillor in Limpopo, pretended to be a white woman, Tracy Zille, and posted several racial incendiary tweets aimed at spurring on racial discontent.
However, the utterances on the @TracyZille account sought to demean Black South Africans, whilst at the same time vilifying white South Africans.
SurgeZirc SA reported on story on 10th July 2020, regards to investigations conducted by the Digital Forensic Lab (DFL) has linked the @TracyZille social media account which has been causing racial tensions, to an EFF central command team member.
The DA is of the view that this is tantamount to hate speech, and they are pleased that this matter will now be tested before the Equality Court.
Meanwhile, the DA is committed to every South African’s right to freedom of speech, they said they cannot sit by and watch as someone wilfully attempts to incite and deepen South Africa’s already fractured race relations.
The Tracy Zille social media account has been on a campaign aimed to outrage by posting tweets which seek to elevate white people above black people. SAHRC now is on the matter to test it in the court of law.
