We honestly hate to be the barrier of bad news but yet another most loved Telenovela is dropping everything because of Covid-19. Muvhango cast and crew members have been forced to pause production of the daily drama and go into self-isolation after one of their employees revealed that they may have been exposed to the virus off the set.
In an interview with TshisaLive the Producer of the much love drama
Herbert Hadebe confirmed they had no choice but to stop prodiction as a measure to reduce the risk of exposure to Covid-19 on and off the set.
“We are prioritising safety of all staff members. We will be constantly monitoring the evolving situation and adapting our efforts and responses. We will continue working together with the SABC as we comply with Covid-19 regulations,” said Hadebe.
The production further added that they had no idea of when they’ll be resuming production, However, with the assistance of the SABC, disinfection on the set is happening as part of the regular measures practised by the production.
Most production companies have expressed how difficult it is to operate under the “new normal” due to the pandemic, things have taken a 360 turn for disaster.
Muvhango is one of the big soapie productions in SA to officially close its doors because of Covid-19. Now we’re just anxiously waiting which production company to be affected next because it seems like the virus loves ruining the very things that make us happy.
