Microsoft has hired Ruben Caballero, a former Apple executive to serve as corporate vice president for hardware design and technology. Following a new update on his LinkedIn profile, which was first picked by Bloomberg.
Ruben Caballero is expected to join Microsoft’s mixed reality and AI team. Caballero will concentrate on the HoloLens as well as other special projects at the Microsoft workshop.
Ruben Caballero worked with Apple as a Vice President of engineering from 2005 to 2019 and led the company’s modern wireless technology development.
Ruben Caballero led the team of engineers that built the antennas inside iPhones, iPads and Macs, and he also oversaw Apple’s wireless testing labs all over the world. He served as a consultant to different companies after he left Apple in 2019.
Although Microsoft confirmed Caballero’s appointment to Bloomberg, the company didn’t elaborate on what projects exactly he will be working on first, according to a report from the publication. However, it is very clear now that Microsoft’s is dedicated to growing its selection of hardware products.
