Eastern Cape man was stabbed to death over a backpack and speaker after he supposedly had an argument with three men who were later arrested in Walmer, Eastern Cape, police said.
Xolani Maneli, his younger brother and other men were at a house in a township in Walmer when an argument started about the allegedly items, police spokesperson Col Priscilla Naidu said.
Maneli and his brother left the house but were tracked by three men who supposedly assaulted the brothers with sticks and knives, Naidu added.
Maneli’s brother managed to escape, Naidu said, but the 21-year-old was not fortunate enough as he was assaulted and stabbed to death.
Three suspects aged 28, 30 and 48 were arrested and are supposed to appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrate’s court.
