The City of Tshwane (CT) has been deteriorating rapidly and evidently on the decline, as residents are suffering while political parties are fighting in council and the courts.
The MEC Lebogang Maile claimed that the decision to dissolve the city administration was not taken lightly, hence they followed protocol such as flagrant disregard for the PMFA, especially regard to procurement process which eroded good governance in the city.
Unauthorized, irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure flagged by the Auditor general. Failure to spend conditional grants leading to loss of money to National Treasury. Non-establishment of ward committee’s after the 2016 local government, to enhance public participation, and others.
“We followed a proper protocol, the decision was not to take lightly,” said Maile.
On the statement reads, the State of Provincial Address (SOPA) Premier David Makhura aptly captured the central role in Gauteng government will be playing to improve the functionality of municipal in the province.
The list of deployed Administrative team is a following: Mpho Kebitsaman Nawa, Gilberto Martins, Lefadi Lucas Matibinyane, Riada Kruger, Lebogang Mahaye, Lesedi Mere, Thulisile Njapa-Mashanda, Mmaseabata Abigail Mutlaneng, Mavela Dlamini and Shiva Makotoko.
They indicated that this team is deployed to execute this task irrespective of political affiliation, Ideological currents but based on their experience, expertise and long service in local government.

“We have put in place preventative measures to mitigate the outbreak,” said MEC.
As they conclude, they called on residents, business, labour and civil society to work closely with the team, to restore good governance and improve service delivery.
