US president Trump had in May, through its Commerce Department added Huawei to the “Entity List,” restricting all US companies from getting involved in any kind of business with it unless they posses a special license.

Following the ban, it has extended temporary licenses for existing customers, like mobile phone users and rural telecoms that uses its equipment and other gadgets.

The most recent extension that was issued will expire next week, but according to a New York Times report, the Donald Trump led administration is prepared to extend it again for a third time, this time no one knows the length of time for which it will be extended.

This deadline is coming against the wall of negotiation over trade between the United States and Beijin, and the report also shows that the administration is considering “product specific” licenses that would permit some US companies to keep supplying to Huawei.
