Brazilian teen Rodrygo Silva de Goes announced himself a fit to participate in professional club football’s with a ‘perfect’ hat-trick in Real Madrid’s conscious 6-0 defeat against Galatasaray.

Rodrygo, 18, has already earned himself a label ”new Neymar” as he makes a record of the second youngest player to score a Champions League treble, behind only Real legend Raul.

A couple of factors may have informed the idea of labeling Rodrygo ”second Neymar” – like Neymar he moved from Brazilian club Santos to Spain. He’s 5ft 9in, same height as the PSG star before his summer switch to Real Madrid.

Rodrygo has made a total of six appearances and has impressively scored five times in all games.

“Hearing the Bernabeu singing my name is a dream come true. I’m so happy, it has been a joyous night but I must try and stay calm,” Rodrygo said.

The Bernabeu showed their support for the teenager as early as the fourth minute when he clinically scored the opener, with left-foot, from Brazilian Marcelo’s pass.

Rodygo got his second three minutes later as he headed in brilliantly from yet another Marcelo crossing, thereby making a history of becoming the first player to score double in the first seven minutes of a Champions League match.

Rodrygo was further stopped from making a quickfire hat-trick shortly after, when captain Sergio Ramos stepped up to score a penalty after Steven Nzonzi had fouled Toni Kroos.

But Rodrygo worked out an assist for Benzema on the stroke of half-time and the Frenchman returned the favour in second-half stoppage time.

Rodrygo completed his ‘perfect’ hat-trick as he poked in with his right foot to wrap-up a devastating 6-0 defeat against Galatasaray.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has this to say, “He doesn’t surprise me. He has a bit of everything. He is intelligent, he learns very fast and wants to learn and improve. Physically he has to get better but technically, he knows how to do everything with the ball.”

Benzema expressed his satisfaction with the teenager by saying, “Rodrygo is only 18 years old but he is fearless. I love to see a young footballer play this way.”
