Social media went into chaos mode on Wednesday with the premiere of Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story, with many slamming the production.
The show, in light of the life of the star, premiered on BET Africa and was quickly under the magnifying lens from Social media clients.
The generation had got people talking when its makers reported a month ago that Lebo would be played by KB Motsilanyane and Bahumi Madisakwane. Bahumi would play the more youthful rendition of Mathosa, while KB would play the star as a grown-up.
Fans were not intrigued by the casting however that was the least of their issues when the show publicized on Wednesday.
While some delighted in the first episode of the series, many criticised it for poor execution and excluding Lebo’s Boom Shaka days.
I dont know what I expected, but this isn’t it. #LeboMathosaBET

Lebo Mathosa was larger than life. What is this? One minute we see this, next we see that. This production is a mess.

I understand it's Lebo mathosa story. But I feel like not including boom shaka into the series that's disrespectful... I mean that's the foundation of Lebo mathosa!! #LeboMathosaBET pic.twitter.com/WQ6nMFOci1
