South Africans couldn’t hold back as the country will be hosting Mr Gay World. For some it had been nothing major until the president of the country offered his courtesy greetings.
Yesterday President Cyril Ramaphosa extended a warm Mother City welcome to the Mr Gay World delegates. The concert will be hosted in South Africa and the Mr Gay World will be crowned on Saturday by Mr Gay World Ambassador, Jordan Bruno.
On behalf of all South Africans, I wish to extend a warm welcome to delegates who have arrived in South Africa for the 2019 Mr Gay World event. South Africa is pleased to host Mr Gay World delegates during,” the President tweeted on Tuesday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s greetings came very unexpected. Some South Africans were quite happy that he had done an honourable act by welcoming the delegates of the concert in a warm manner.
Thank you for recognising this incredible institution – for all leaders from the African continent to see! Love our constitution <3 South Africa is at the forefront of democracy in Africa

Whilst some of the social media users thought that the president had better things to do then condoning homosexuality. They had thrashed his warm greetings and found the concert to be silly as there is already a Mr South Africa and Miss South Africa concert.
What’s the meaning of all this in African soil

With all due respect Mr President, would you be happy to have a gay son participating in these dirty things? Deep down we all know proper men hate this gay rubbish thing being imposed on us!?

This is one reason why i have always respected Mr R.G. Mugabe. Some African leaders sold out, compromising principle. We have values in Africa, now we are trading them for aid in disguise of rights. its a shame. The need for aid has destroyed our good culture as Africans.

How do they determine who will win? Do they check who is the most gay of them all? Make up category. Ballroom gown. Watch most Modern Family episodes. Can say ‘Fabulous, darling!!’ most lady-like. Has a moustache. Pinky up when drinking tea. Drives an Opel Tigra/Peugeot CC. ??

Meanwhile, some saw it as a strategy of pocketing votes.
This tweet does not come from the heart….just another cheap strategy to get votes! Seeing through you Ramaphosa!
