Musician Zahara has been through a lot lately, it had looked like her career and life were on the brink. The award winning musician Zahara says that gigs continue to roll in, despite her speaking out against her former record label, TS Records, with claims that the company owes her for unpaid royalties.
Zahara had come out to the public about her problems. She admitted of having a problem with alcohol and of being broke. She said her main reason for being broke was because her recording company only paid her a “mere R10 000.”
Her manager then came to the public letting the public know of how Zahara has damaged herself. It was apparent that their relationship was under strain. “She damaged her liver and private parts” he mentioned. He also mentioned how it was difficult to book Zahara as she was always unavailable for gigs.
It was than that the singer started requesting for gigs on her own.
Surprisingly enough the singer managed to get gigs for the whole year. “Now I know that my manager sabotaged me.” It is alleged that the management wasn’t doing what is best for her.
“People would call, wanting to book me, but were told I wasn’t available and the space would be given to other artists.”
In some cases money was collected from the promoter and Zahara was not told anything about that.On the contrary now “I’m booked until December. Imagine that!”, It is said that her former manager sabotaged her and had an intent of ending her career.
The singer has also started her own recording label which her cousin claims it will be different from all the other “parasites” known in the entertainment industry.
