In the event that you’re currently battling with your Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp today you must know that Facebook has been tackling another massive outage. It’s the second time within a month.
According to downdetector.com, almost immediately after 6AM ET today, Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp users across the world started experiencing issues using the accounts.
At the time of composing this report, well over two hours later the services were still down, thereby leaving users unable to load fresh content or message each other, nor could we check the service status on Facebook’s developer site. Unlike last time, the company hasn’t commented on the situation via Twitter.
”Update 4/14/19 8:58M ET: Some of the services are gradually recovering, with Instagram and Messenger now working for this author,” report.
The current outage is just one out of many disturbing issues of late coming from Facebook. While the social media giant blamed a server configuration change for the last month’s outage, it has failed to address how up to 600 million user passwords were left exposed to some 20,000 employees in the form of plain text so everyone could see.
The company in recent time had been doing a lot to control curb hate speech and fake news, maybe the company is giving more than required attention to hate speech and fake news at the detriment of smooth run of the platforms.
