Facebook keeps improving it user experience on the platform with great features, the social network giant is introducing a new feature that will allow you host a live TV show called ‘watch party‘
Engadget said, ”Start a party and you can cheer in chat, create polls and offer trivia questions based on player stats. It’s not going to compare to gathering around the couch, but it should deliver more of a thrill than everyday group discussions.
Facebook is testing the feature worldwide in its Groups during certain sports events, which include UEFA Champions League matches. It’ll eventually spread to “all kinds of live events and cultural festivals,” the social network said it will include award shows like Oscars and other premieres.
Facebook isn’t just catering to TV shows today, it’s also considering music fans and music promoters. If you attach a song to your profile, you can drop your visitors an option to listen to the entire song on Spotify. The tech company is assuring us of more music partners in the near future.
Engadget said, ”It may seem unusual for Facebook to enable Watch Party for videos that aren’t even online, but this appears to be more about capturing your attention than making money. If you stay in a Facebook space while you’re watching the big game, you might be more likely to stay on the service for after-match discussions.”
This is how it will appear on the App.
