R. Kelly got out of jail Saturday, many thanks to a mystery donor who paid off the $161,000 that was demanded of Kelly by his ex-wife for child support.
After the release, Kelly been sourrounded by heavy crowed of pressmen said:
“I promise you, we’re going to straighten all this stuff out,” the 52-year-old singer told reporters following his release. That’s all I can say right now. I promise you.”
Not even Sophia Ansari, a spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, who operates the jail knows who paid the back child support, according to the Associated Press.
Kelly had been locked up in Cook County, Illinois, since Wednesday over the child grant money. He had spoken through his reps that he could afford to pay $50,000 to $60,000 out of the full money to his ex, Andrea “Drea” Kelly.
They both have a 20-year-old daughter, Joann, and two teenage sons, Robert Jr. and Jay. And it marked the second time in three weeks that the entertainer walked out of the same jail.On Feb. 22, he was taken into custody there after state prosecutors charged him with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse.
But he walked out three days later when a suburban Chicago business owner paid up his $100,000 bail charge.
Valencia Patrice Love, of Romeoville, has described herself as a friend of Kelly and a fan of his music. Love owns a number of restaurants, according to records obtained by the Daily Mail, as well as a child-care facility, the Lord and Child Christian Day Care.
