In the event that you are not so sure is Qantas will truly be cancelling Airbus order, just know it been confirmed, Qantas issued a confirmation on Thursday that it will not take up eight Airbus A380s that has been ordered already.
The company would rather focus on refurbishing about 12 of it existing planes instead of ordering for another one.
One of the conpany’s spokesperson Sydney said: “Following discussions with Airbus, Qantas has now formalised its decision not to take eight additional A380s that were ordered in 2006, these aircraft have not been part of the airline’s fleet and network plans for some time.”
This decision will not go down well with the A380 programme. Though, Airbus recently confirmed that it was having talks with Emirates to change an order of 36 A380 planes to smaller A350s.
As a result of not having order, the superjumbo plane is no longer up in production.
