Dorcas Kasinde of Congo didn’t get the crowning moment she might have dreamed of at the Miss Africa Pageant as her hair was set on flames.
The Congolese contestant took home the crown of Miss Africa however her moment has gone viral for all the incorrect reasons when a fireworks show unwittingly caused Kasinde’s wig to travel up in flames.
The beauty queen screamed in terror when she realised what had happened however fortuitously a fast thinking stage hand was ready to rescue her and place out the blaze.

The show should persist though, as they are saying, and Kasinde would quickly regulate and undergo all the eclat and ceremony of a crowning.
In a video posted after the incident Kasinde said: “I’m good. My hair… it’s okay. I feel good now. Thank you!
“I’m so happy and I want to thank you all to come tonight to support me and support me on social media.”
Kasinde was awarded a prize of US$35k and a fresh vehicle for claiming the crown at the pageant control in African country. She was given a medical check-up shortly when the incident and located to possess no serious injuries however her pride could take time to heal after the embarrassing incident.
She would eventually get her crowning moment and handled the entire situation with poise and grace, a true pageant beauty.
