2 Suspects Busted For Hawker’s Murder

Two suspects, aged 34 and 40, have been arrested for murder and kidnapping.

The arrest during the weekend, was for an incident which occurred on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at around 20:00.

The  victim, a  27-year-old hawker was brutally murdered in Odendaalsrus, following an altercation over selling fruits at a fuel station.

Violent Assault And Aftermath

The victim was allegedly pursued by the suspects and an unknown accomplice, loaded onto a bakkie, and taken back to the fuel station.

There, he was assaulted with a knobkerrie and sjambok.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

Court Appearance And Ongoing Investigations

The two suspects are set to appear before the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court today, Monday, March 24, 2025.

Police have seized the Isuzu bakkie allegedly used in the crime, and investigations are ongoing.
