The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s spokesperson, Jo-Anne Otto, confirmed that a third veldfire had ignited near Val de Vie, just outside Paarl.

Firefighters Face Tough Conditions Across Cape Winelands
Emergency teams have been stretched thin as multiple fires broke out across the region on Thursday. The Cape Town Fire and Rescue Service also had to tackle a veldfire above Military Road on Signal Hill.
That blaze has since been extinguished, but crews remain on-site to monitor for any possible flare-ups as hot, windy weather conditions continue to pose challenges.
Authorities have urged residents in affected areas to remain cautious and follow safety advisories as firefighters work tirelessly to bring the situation under control.
