Two Arrested After Triple Murder In Meqheleng, Ficksburg – Free State Police Confirm

Two suspects have been taken into custody following a triple murder in Meqheleng, Ficksburg, in the Free State, police have confirmed.
Officers were alerted on Friday after reports of gunshots coming from rented rooms in the area. On arrival, police discovered the bodies of three men, aged between 26 and 28, lying in a pool of blood.
The suspects are expected to appear in a local magistrate’s court in the coming days as investigations continue.
Police Respond Swiftly to Meqheleng Shooting
According to police spokesperson Mahlomola Kareli, authorities launched an immediate intelligence-driven, multidisciplinary operation after the shooting was reported. This led to the arrest of two male foreign nationals, aged 26 and 29, in under 24 hours.
“During the manhunt, one suspect was intercepted at a taxi rank while attempting to flee to a neighboring country. The second suspect was discovered by Anti-Gang operators hiding in a house within Meqheleng,” Kareli said.

Police have not yet established the motive behind the killings. Kareli added that investigators are following up on all leads and have urged the public to assist.
“The motive for the killings is still unknown at this stage. We are appealing to anyone with information that can assist with investigation to come forward,” he said.
Authorities say further details will be shared as the case progresses through the justice system.
