14-Year-Old Charged With Rape Of Two Young Boys In Gravelotte Bush Assault

A 14-year-old from Limpopo appeared in the Namakgale Magistrate’s special court on Thursday. Authorities charged the teenager with the rape of two young children in the Gravelotte area. Police arrested the suspect on Tuesday after a swift investigation.

Details of the Alleged Railway Line Rape

The incident occurred on January 3, 2026, at approximately 3pm. According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the suspect, known to the victims, lured an eight- and a nine-year-old boy to bushes near a railway line.

“The preliminary report suggests that the suspect lured the victims to the nearby bushes and sexually assaulted one of the victims,” the police statement said. “Afterward, he compelled the other victim to rape his friend.”

The guardian alerted police after learning of the suspect’s actions. Medical evaluation at a hospital later confirmed both children had been sexually assaulted.

Police Reaction and Upcoming Court Date

Acting Provincial Police Commissioner in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, welcomed the rapid arrest by Gravelotte police. He urged parents and guardians to be vigilant about their children’s whereabouts.

The teenager faces charges of rape and compelled rape. “The male suspect will appear again on Thursday, 05 February 2026, at Namakgale Magistrate’s Court,” the SAPS confirmed.
