13-Year-Old Girl Beaten To Death At Sleepover By Friend’s Mother And Accomplices

A 13-year-old girl’s sleepover ended in tragedy when she was allegedly beaten to death by adults she should have been able to trust.

According to Ilitha Labantu spokesperson Siyabulela Monakali, Zukhanye was visiting a friend when the friend’s mother, together with two other women, launched a violent attack on her. The teenager was struck on the head with planks, sustaining severe injuries.

Brutal Attack Leaves Family Shattered

“She was rushed to hospital, but sadly pronounced dead just two hours later,” Monakali said. “Before her passing, she was able to give a statement about what happened.”

Monakali condemned the killing, saying children are too often harmed by those closest to them.

“It is shocking and unacceptable that no arrests have been made. Justice delayed is justice denied. The perpetrators must be arrested immediately and prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” he said.

He added that Zukhanye’s death is “a devastating loss to her family and a collective wound to society.”

Family Pleads for Help

Ilitha Labantu extended condolences to the family, urging swift police action: “Her memory must not fade into another statistic. It must be a call to build a society where no child suffers violence or abuse.”
