13-Year-Old Found Drinking After Setting Home Ablaze

A 13-year-old boy from Hazelmere, KZN, has been accused of setting his home on fire after refusing to follow his mother’s instructions.
The incident, according to SAPS in a statement late Monday, shocked the local community and raised serious concerns over the boy’s behaviour, as he went drinking at a local tavern.

Fire Breaks Out After Teen Refuses To Escort Siblings
According to the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) late Monday, they responded to an emergency call about a house on fire.
On arrival, officers discovered that residents had managed to contain the blaze, but the home’s interior was severely damaged.

Firefighters arrived soon after to extinguish the flames.
The cause of the fire is believed to be linked to the actions of the 13-year-old boy, who had been left in charge of his younger siblings.

According to reports, the boy’s mother had been attending a neighbor’s party with her three children, ranging in age from 13 to 3. At some point, she instructed her teenage son to take the younger children home and ensure they were fed.
The boy reportedly refused to carry out the request, but left the party with the house keys.
Shortly thereafter, his home was found engulfed in flames.
Teenager Found Drinking At Local Tavern
After the fire broke out, concerned neighbors began searching for the teenager, who was later found drinking alcohol at a local tavern.

The boy was reportedly drinking alone when found, raising further questions about his behavior and wellbeing.
