10 Dead, 31 Injured In Truck–Bus Collision Near Mandela View

Ten people were killed and 31 others injured on Friday following a collision between a truck and a bus near Mandela View on the Bloemfontein–Botshabelo route, authorities have confirmed.
Emergency Services Respond Within Minutes
The crash occurred approximately 5 km from Mandela View, prompting an immediate response from paramedics, fire services, and law enforcement teams.
Emergency crews worked to stabilise the scene, assist passengers, and manage the heavy traffic backlog caused by the accident.
According to EMS officials, 41 people were involved in the collision. Six patients with severe injuries were transported to Pelonomi Trauma Unit for urgent treatment.
Five others, who sustained moderate injuries, were taken to Botshabelo Hospital and Busamed. Nineteen people suffered minor injuries and received medical care at Botshabelo Hospital. One patient declined transport after being assessed at the scene.

Truck-Bus Crash Investigation Underway
Authorities confirmed that ten passengers died at the scene due to the impact of the crash. Rescue teams worked throughout the morning to secure the area and ensure all survivors received necessary care.
Traffic remains heavily affected along the Bloemfontein–Botshabelo route, with motorists being advised to expect delays and adhere to instructions from officials while cleanup operations and investigations continue. Police have launched an inquiry into the cause of the collision.
