1-Year-Old Cape Town Girl Knocked Dead By Taxi Outside Home

A one-year-old girl was killed after being struck by a minibus taxi in Heideveld, Cape Town on Sunday afternoon, police confirmed.
The incident occurred at approximately 2.30pm at Grace Court, near the child’s home. She sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Police Investigating Circumstances of Cape Town Fatal Crash
The South African Police Service has opened a case of culpable homicide as well as reckless and negligent driving. The matter is being investigated by officers from Manenberg.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said: “Manenberg registered a culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving case for investigation following an accident on Sunday, 22 March at 2.30pm at Grace Court, Heideveld, in which a one-year-old baby girl suffered fatal injuries.

“The circumstances surrounding this accident are under investigation. No arrests have been made.”
Family in Mourning as Investigation Continues
The child’s family has not yet commented publicly, indicating they are still coming to terms with the tragedy.
Police have appealed to anyone with information to contact Manenberg SAPS or Crime Stop as investigations continue.
